The leadership of the Somali Institute of Certified Public Accountants held a high-level meeting with the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and the Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, alongside officials from the Office of the Auditor General.
The discussions focused on the critical role of the accounting profession in strengthening governance, enhancing transparency, and supporting economic development. SICPA leadership highlighted the importance of implementing the newly enacted SICPA Act and establishing a strong regulatory framework for the profession.
The meeting also emphasized the need for collaboration between government institutions and professional bodies to improve public financial management and accountability. The President and Prime Minister expressed their support for SICPA’s mandate and its role in nation-building.
