SICPA Participates in DNFBP Meeting-19th Oct 2021
On 19th Oct 2021 the Somali Institute of Certified Public Accountants actively participated in a high-level meeting for Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs), organized by the Financial Reporting Center with support from the International Development Law Organization. The meeting brought together regulators, professionals, and stakeholders to discuss critical issues related to anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT).
SICPA’s participation underscored its growing role in supporting regulatory compliance and promoting ethical practices within the accounting profession. The discussions focused on strengthening reporting frameworks, improving awareness of AML/CFT obligations, and enhancing coordination between regulatory bodies and professionals.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of capacity building and continuous professional education to ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements. SICPA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting its members through training, guidance, and technical resources to meet these obligations.
